CoolTerm now checks the availability of fonts specified in loaded settings before applying.Added an additional date/time format to the Preferences to provide an option to remove time zone information. The text selection is maintained across view modes (e.g.Updated Hex viewer with the ability to vary the number of characters per row when the window width changes.Added "Wait for remote echo" option for throttling data transmission.Added option to automatically start a macro when the terminal opens. When a macro is running the status label will change the text color to blue. Updated status bar label with information on the currently running macro.

Split "Ignore Receive Signal Framing Errors" into separate options to ignore serial break conditions and framing errors. Improved responsiveness of RX and TX status indicator LEDs. Changed "Capture Local Echo" option to "Capture transmit data" and made capturing of outgoing data independent of whether local echo is turned on in the terminal options. Replaced status label context menus with dedicated quick access menu located in the bottom left of the status bar. Added capability to manually toggle break signal by clicking the TX LED or via the Connection/Toggle Break menu item. Empty lines (enter key only) are not recorded. The command line history is now only updated if the current command is not equal to the previous one. Updated method used to store command line history. Moved option to show/hide toolbar from preferences to connection settings. Coolterm xp windows#
Support for dark mode on Windows systems.Completely overhauled built-in help (HTML stylization courtesy of Greg Willits).Updated Hex Viewer with capability to select and copy/paste hex data.Capability to include "Received" and "Sent" labels in capture files.Support for select transmit and receive ANSI Escape sequences.Support for controlling DTR and RTS signals from transmit macros.Support for delays, serial BREAK, and repetition to transmit macros.
New application, document, toolbar, and LED icons (courtesy of Greg Willits). New chart display (similar to Arduino serial plotter, but with a lot more options). It also has support for I2C and a PIC Programmer (parallel port) although I have not used those features. Hopefully if people have other terminal programs that they like, they will share their experiences also. Just thought I would share this with everyone. And last but not least, the program is Freeware. The program also allows you to send out any Hex values that you specify and not only the 'printable' characters from the keyboard. What I like best about it is that you can display the incoming stream in ASCII, Hex, or a mixture of both. It has no support for dialing modems, BBS etc - that is what hyperterminal does. It is far better for debugging comms than Hyperterminal. Realterm is a terminal program specially designed for capturing, controlling and debugging binary and other difficult data streams. I use a program called RealTerm that I think is far better so I thought I would suggest it to others. I found out a long time ago that Hyperterminal was very limited in it's ability to be a useful debug tool. I see many posts with people using Hyperterminal when trying to debug serial communications with a PIC.
